Insulation improves a home without breaking the bank

Homeowners trying to make savings on their energy bills should consider hiring a qualified tradesman to install loft insulation, according to the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC).
Recent figures from Sainsbury's Home Insurance suggest that up to 3.27 million householders in the UK intend to carry out structural changes to their properties in the next year.
"One thing we would urge people to do if they can't afford to have a full extension, is to look at the insulation of their homes loft insulation, cavity wall insulation," commented Andrew Leech, director of the NHIC.
He added that while not everybody has the funds to carry out major changes to their homes, employing a plumber to install an en suite bathroom in the bedroom is another way to improve a house without breaking the bank.
A recent study by Ratedpeople.com found that adding a conservatory to a property can add as much as five per cent to its overall value.
