North Wales tradespeople bust recession
A group of qualified tradespeople in north-east Wales is defying the recession by doubling in size in less than a year.
Selectatrade is a collection of self-employed business people who joined forces to create a service that finds customers a tradesperson for any occasion whether a plumber, joiner, electrician of decorator, the Daily Post reports.
The business model has proved successful as it already covers the Wrexham, Chester and Flintshire areas and is looking to expand its operations even further.
Co-founder Richard Denny said the group is able to recommend a professional with confidence because all members are hand-picked specialists.
"The group has expanded because customers said they wanted further trades help with work on their homes," he told the paper.
It follows reports from professional tradesperson's website Ratedpeople.com that homeowners consider it important to hire a qualified handyman to help them fix up their properties.
