Renovation company celebrates award
A refurbishment firm is celebrating after receiving accolades from the Civic Trust for its work on two historic Yorkshire buildings.
Turner and Townsend, which also marks its 50th anniversary this year, provided full project management support on the redevelopment of the Rotunda Museum in Scarborough and the City Museum in Leeds.
Builders and tradesmen were employed to provide new routes, access and gallery areas through restoration and adaptation in the Leeds City Museum, which was described by judges as "a good example of inner city urban regeneration".
Mike Lumb, director of Turner and Townsend, said he was delighted with the recognition his company received.
"Both projects offer fantastic cultural facilities for their communities and provide major contributions to the regeneration of the towns and cities they serve," he added.
Turner and Townsend has also been shortlisted for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Pro-Yorkshire Awards, which recognises excellence in construction and refurbishment sector and is due to be held on May 15th.
