Plumber and electrician scale the heights
A four-man team from Bicester, which includes two qualified tradespeople, is taking a well-earned break after returning from an incredible mountain challenge.
Plumber Steve Adcock, electrical contractor Chris Ball and two others scaled three mountains in three different countries in the same day, the Oxford Times reports.
The team conquered the 1,344-metre high Ben Nevis in Scotland, the 977-metre Scafell Pike in England and the 1,097-metre Snowdon in Wales all within 24 hours, driving a total of 480 miles between the peaks.
So far the men have raised more than £1,000 for Cancer Research UK and Douglas and Helen House hospices.
Mr Ball told the paper: "We can all honestly say that this challenge was the toughest thing we have ever done, both physically and mentally very demanding.
"Without the prior training we would never have completed it within 24 hours."
The news follows reports in the Reading Evening Post that a qualified plumber from Tilehurst teamed up with his friends to renovate their cash-strapped local pub for free.
