Plumbing firm takes action over swine flu
London's largest plumbing firm is taking drastic action to ensure the safety of its workers after the outbreak of swine flu.
Pimlico Plumbers has ordered hundreds of anti-viral FluPaks from Patientpak, which contain santising wipes, fabric spray, tissues, masks and hygiene guide to provide a barrier against all forms of influenza.
Charlie Mullins, managing director of Pimlico Plumbers, said the outbreak needs to be taken seriously.
"I've heard experts talking about the possibility of 35 per cent of people being off work at once and thousands of schools having to close - London could grind to a standstill, but we have to make sure that our business is still able to operate," he added.
It is thought Pimlico Plumbers will be one of the first companies in the UK to receive its order of this kind of kit in September.
Mr Mullins was last year named among the most innovative businessmen in London in the Ernst and Young London and South Entrepreneur of the Year.
