Sheffield plumber s success story
A Sheffield woman is giving inspiration to young plumbers everywhere by running her own business successfully during the recession.
Qualified plumber Naomi Engelkamp, who at 27 has worked in the trades for nearly a decade, took advantage of a local scheme designed to help people get started with managing their own companies, the Sheffield Telegraph reports.
BiG: Make it Your Business offers a range of business support facilities to give Sheffield's young hopefuls the assistance they need to turn their skills into cash.
"The BiG team helped me to draw up a structured business plan, and gave me advice on the next steps to take towards setting up my own business," Ms Engelkamp told the paper.
Meanwhile the Manchester Evening News has reported that former Big Brother contestant Lisa Huo is close to becoming a fully-trained plumber, having landed a job at top building firm Bramall Construction.
