Somerset plumber hired by Arabian Apprentice
A qualified plumber from Somerset is getting ready to exchange her plunger for a property portfolio after winning the Arabian version of The Apprentice.
Hannah Dodkin, 30, was initially fired halfway through the contest but her determination to make it to the top convinced the show's producers to let her back in for the final.
She won half of the show's top prize from property magnate and Manchester City owner Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim an achievement she puts down to her training in the plumbing trade.
"Working as a plumber has helped me enormously to grasp the technical aspects of the real estate market in the United Arab Emirates," Ms Dodkin commented.
She added: "I now have an extensive understanding of the construction process here and it stems from my work on-site."
It is a further commendation for Britain's plumbers after Southend-based Drain Doctor franchisees David and Sharon Spurrier won an award for becoming the first franchise to turn over more than £1 million per year.
