Wolseley hosts sustainable water seminars
Plumbers and builders merchant Wolseley is to host a seminar event at its sustainable building centre (SBC) in Leamington Spa on rainwater harvesting and off-mains drainage.
The event on June 17th and June 18th will include presentations from Kingspan Water concerning installation considerations and how to make the best use of rainwater and grey water harvesting systems.
Chris Booker, SBC product development manager, says climate change is likely to put increased strain on the UK's water supplies in the future and tradesmen will increasingly be called upon to install these systems.
"The event aims to dispel the myths surrounding the products and technologies which can significantly lower water consumption," he added.
New legislation such as the Code for Sustainable Homes sets ambitious targets for households to reach in reducing their waste.
Peterborough-based Drain Doctor Plumbing recently began offering water harvesting systems as part of its portfolio of services, allowing homeowners to re-use waste from their sinks and washing machines.
