Homeowners trying to make savings on their energy bills should consider hiring a qualified tradesman to install loft insulation, according to the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC).

Business start-ups should receive more support
New business start-ups should be provided with more support, it has been claimed.
There is a "huge demand" for support as many individuals attempt to start new businesses during the recession, according to National Federation of Enterprise Agencies chief executive George Derbyshire.
Small business lending from banks rose by £235 million in January 2009, figures from the British Bankers' Association show.
There have also been calls from the Forum for Private Business for support for small businesses to form a major part of the April 22nd budget announcement.
Enquiries from those interested in starting their own business have also been increasing, according to Mr Derbyshire.
He said: "We are seeing enquiries for people looking to start new businesses increasing substantially.
"It's great for the government to set up new financial schemes , but what we need is for people to be helped and advised to make the most of those schemes."
