Lancashire college to hold open day after refurb
By Charles Murphy
Tradesmen in Lancashire have helped to deliver a multi-million pound upgrade to one of the county's college campuses.
Nelson and Colne College is opening to the public later this month to show its new facilities to local people, following a thorough refurbishment project which has cost more than £20 million, the Lancashire Telegraph reports.
New features at the college include a six-court fitness centre with gymnasium, a new restaurant and bistro, hair and beauty salons, a theatre and state-of-the-art music studios.
Denise Hartley, assistant principal at Nelson and Colne College, told the paper: "We don't normally open on Saturdays but the idea is to give members of the local community a chance to look around the fantastic facilities."
The news follows reports that tradesmen have been hard at work in Lancashire's Euxton library, helping to create new community spaces and access for disabled people as part of a £430,000 refurbishment of the facility.
