Tradesmen to deliver £3.58m refurb to Rugby police station
By Brian de Selby
Tradesmen in Rugby have been called upon to deliver the final phase of refurbishment works to the town's police station, which is due to begin on August 4th.
The six-month programme of works will include the total refitting of the basement, ground and first floors, the installation of a new custody suite and an extensive interior alteration to provide a modern cell block and offices.
By March 2010 the building is expected to have air conditioning and incorporate several energy-efficient features.
Clive Philips, head of property services at Warwickshire Police, said tradesmen in the area may have more work coming their way from the local bobbies.
"This project is one of several being undertaken by Warwickshire Police to improve and modernise police accommodation in Warwickshire," he commented.
The news follows reports in Harrogate Today that cells in the town's police station closed last month to allow qualified tradesmen to deliver urgent refurbishment works.
