Tradesmen to help traders in Ludlow Market
By Charles Murphy
Qualified tradesmen in Ludlow will be giving the town's market a major makeover by the end of the year after the town council placed an order to build new stalls by the winter.
All existing stalls will be replaced and fitted out with a striped awning, although as per the wishes of local traders the original layout of the market will be retained in the £30,000 refurbishment, the Ludlow Advertiser reports.
Additionally, a new market manager has been appointed in an attempt to enhance trade, while traders hope to be operating from a new market by the time of the Medieval Fayre in November.
"I am delighted to take up my new post at such an exciting time in the life of Ludlow market," market manager Chris Bayliss told the paper.
Tradesmen in the town have also been busy delivering a £70,000 renovation project to the Buttercross cupola, a Grade I listed building.
